We Tried Using A Portable Air & Surface Steriliser For A Week. Here's Our Review
Unlike conventional air purifiers, the Versa 25 HomeTravel Series Air + Surface Sterilizer targets pollutants in the air AND surfaces in your surroundings.
The Versa 25 HomeTravel Series Air + Surface Sterilizer by Medklinn is a portable air steriliser that emits active oxygen to sterilise both the air and surfaces around it
From the air we breathe to the surfaces we touch, there's no denying that people are still worried about their surroundings.
Social distancing, regularly washing our hands, wiping down surfaces with disinfectant — doing all these things have become part of our daily life. And it's completely natural to want to take all the necessary precautions to keep ourselves safe.
This is where the Versa 25 comes in. Its primary function is to reduce pollutants in the air, and promote a cleaner environment around us.
Boasting six features, including its sterilising capabilities, we put this portable air steriliser to the test for a week, by using it at home, the office, and even during a camping trip
But first, here's a closer look at the Versa 25 Home + Travel Series:
1. Uses active oxygen to sterilise the air and surfaces
2. Weighing in at a mere 220g, this portable air steriliser is 95% smaller than a conventional air purifier
3. Covers an area of 250 sq ft
4. Easily connects through USB
5. Features a replaceable cartridge that requires no cleaning
6. Comes in multiple colours to suit your fancy
What sets the Versa 25 apart is that it also sterilises pollutants found on surfaces
Most air purifiers only target pollutants in the air, but this portable air steriliser from Medklinn claims to target similar nasties — like bacteria, mould, and viruses — on surfaces you come into physical contact with. So, think bedsheets, curtains, tables, and couches when you're at home, or car interiors and hotel rooms when you travel.
This is possible due to Medklinn's air and surface sterilisation patented technology, Cerafusion, that creates active oxygen just as nature does. According to Medklinn, this eliminates 99.9% of viruses, bacteria, mould, allergens, odours, and pollutants in the air and on surfaces*.

It's also small and light enough to carry around, which came in handy on multiple occasions we tried it
We were pleasantly surprised to discover that it came packed in a super light and compact box, which is actually perfect whether you want to keep at home, place it in the office, or bring it on a trip.
1. It feels like an added layer of protection that you can just set up and forget about at home
We tested it in the living room and bedroom of a high-rise apartment. Hooking up the device was simple enough, all you need is a plug and USB cable to connect the Versa 25.
Usually, if you shut all your windows and balcony doors at home, it may result in restricted air ventilation. However, the Versa 25 works by filling up your living space with active oxygen, and works best when all windows and doors are closed.
According to the Versa 25 manual, you can set it up and leave it running 24/7. It covers an area of 250 sq ft, so roughly the size of a small bedroom or study.During the day, we placed the Versa 25 in the living room where we worked. Besides emitting a low humming noise and noticeable 'clean' scent, we didn't really notice it there.
Throughout the day, it was nice knowing that the air we were breathing in was clean, and we didn't have to worry about accidentally inhaling any pollutants.
One thing to note is that air fresheners and fragrances shouldn't be used when the device is running, as this makes it harder to sterilise the air. So, if you usually use scented candles with your candle warmer like us, you may want to move them to another room or keep it off when you run the Versa 25.
2. It's nice to have for car rides and at travel accommodations because it gets rid of odour and stuffiness
While we didn't think it was essential to have, it did feel reassuring to know that the air and car interior was getting sterilised with active oxygen from the Versa 25.
We don't go out much, except for the occasional family dinner, quick lunch with a friend, or grocery run. When we do, we make sure to sanitise our hands each time we get back into the car, masks still on. The Versa 25 made us feel reassured in terms of our clothing also getting that germ and virus-killing action.
This feeling was more prominent when we tested it while on the road for more than two hours. Thanks to the USB used to connect the Versa 25, we could plug it in the car adapter or use a powerbank to get it running. We went with the former. Again, it was easy to let it do its job and forget about it. The good thing is, the air didn't feel stuffy, which tends to happen during long car rides with the air conditioning on the whole time.
An area where the Versa 25 stood out most was during a camping trip. It almost completely got rid of the muskiness in the tent, caused by rain water that seeped into the mats inside — much to the delight of our tentmates, heheh.
Plus, considering all the outdoor activities we did like jungle trekking and cave exploring, the Versa 25 definitely felt handy to have in our four-person, medium sized tent.
3. If you share an office space with colleagues, it gives everyone extra peace of mind
Lastly, we tested the Versa 25 at the office. While the majority of our days are spent working from home, there are rare instances where we head into the office. It so happened that one of those instances fell on the week we planned to review the Versa 25. :D
As mentioned, the Versa 25 provides peace of mind, thanks to its air and surface sterilising capabilities. And in the same way it was simple to plug in and let it do its magic at home, the portable device was left running on a shared desk at work.
Perhaps it was the larger open space, but it didn't seem to produce the humming noise we heard on previous occasions. A colleague did note that the active oxygen from the device reminded them of ionisers they used before.
There are many points of physical contact that can go unnoticed — like having our arms rest on the desk while working — so, having the Versa 25 at the office was a nice addition while we worked.
All in all, we appreciate the possibility of enjoying less pollutants in our environment with Medklinn's Versa 25 HomeTravel Series Air + Surface Sterilizer, and not to mention how portable it is
With a reasonable price tag of RM669, this portable sterilising device also claims to help with sinus issues and allergies. Find out more about Medklinn's efficacy tests and features of the Versa 25 on its website.
Having an air and surface steriliser alone won't guarantee total protection, but if you'd like to go the extra step and safeguard yourself and your family against pollutants and odours, the Versa 25 is worth considering.
Medklinn will be having a year end promotion from 11 December to 31 December. If you are thinking of buying the portable device, you'll get to enjoy 15% off on the Versa 25, as well as everything else on their website.
