Apple Releases iOS 27 With Upgraded Siri And 80% Faster AirDrop

Apple has rolled out its latest major operating system upgrades, including iOS 27, watchOS 27, iPadOS 27, visionOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, and tvOS 27

Supported devices can download the new software immediately.

The biggest upgrade across almost every operating system, excluding tvOS 27, comes to Siri.

Apple's virtual assistant is now noticeably smarter and more context-aware, making daily digital interactions feel far more intuitive.

File sharing also received a massive speed boost, with AirDrop now working up to 80% faster

Visually, users can tweak display aesthetics further with detailed customisation options for Liquid Glass transparency levels.

There is also a new iPhone Handoff feature that allows a single eSIM to be shared between two iPhones.

However, this feature is currently restricted to the US and Germany and requires an additional telco subscription.

Apple confirmed that every model supported by the previous generation will receive the iOS 27 update.

In total, 30 iPhone models are eligible for the software upgrade:

• iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max
• iPhone SE (2nd generation and later)
• iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max
• iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max
• iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max
• iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max
• iPhone 16e, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max
• iPhone 17e, iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max
