U Mobile has been named Malaysia's Fastest 5G Network for Q3 and Q4 2025 by Ookla, the global leader in network intelligence
The recognition was based on real-world user tests conducted in the second half of 2025, meaning the results reflect how U Mobile's 5G network performed for actual users across Malaysia.
Behind that experience is a network engineered with 5G-Advanced technologies, including 64 Transmitters and 64 Receivers (64T64R) and Extremely Large Antenna Array (ELAA)
Woon Ooi Yuen, Chief Technology Officer of U Mobile, said that the company is delighted to be recognised by Ookla as Malaysia's Fastest 5G Network, and it is especially meaningful as the results are based on real-world user experience.
"We have deployed advanced technologies such as 64T64R and ELAA, to bring richer digital experiences for consumers, from crystal-clear video calls to ultra-smooth live streaming, while having the capability to empower enterprises across various verticals with the reliability, security, and low latency required for mission-critical applications," he said.
Ookla president and Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Bye, said the company was honoured to present U Mobile with the Speedtest Award, adding that the recognition reflected its investment in delivering mobile connectivity.
The latest recognition comes as U Mobile continues to roll out its next-generation 5G infrastructure across Malaysia
The company said its rollout remains ahead of schedule, with 80% coverage of populated areas targeted by the second half of 2026.
If you happen to be around Bangi, Putrajaya, or Petaling Jaya, U Mobile's ULTRA5G experience is already available throughout these three places.
In Bangi, coverage stretches from Universiti Tenaga Nasional to Bandar Baru Bangi, including residential, commercial, and industrial areas.
In Putrajaya, ULTRA5G covers the vast majority of precincts and key administrative zones, as well as areas around landmarks and public spaces including Seri Perdana Complex, PICC, Putrajaya Botanical Garden, and Putrajaya Lake.
Meanwhile, coverage in PJ New Town stretches from Kampung Sungai Way to PJ New Town, including Seksyen 51A, Jalan 222, and Seksyen 52.
ULTRA5G has also been enabled in 30 buildings, including malls, offices, hotels, hospitals, and transport hubs such as Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1, Kota Kinabalu International Airport, Langkawi International Airport, Penang Sentral, and Terminal Bersepadu Selatan.
