UK's Orient Telecoms Launches 10GB Business Internet Plans In Malaysia
It was designed for large businesses and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Telecommunications provider Orient Telecoms Plc plans to expand its ORBIT 10,000 premium business Internet service to the east coast states of Malaysia as well as Sabah and Sarawak within three to five years
The UK-based company launched ORBIT 10,000 today, offering speeds of 10 gigabits per second (Gbps) and designed for large businesses and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The company said the service ensures an unprecedented 10,000 Mbps speed and security, leveraging on its proprietary Slipstream Conduit Technology running on active Carrier Class Ethernet infrastructure.
"This is a stark contrast to many other service providers offering high speed internet services but are mostly running on modest passive optical network infrastructure.
"Active Carrier Class network is the preferred choice due to its scalability, performance capabilities and suitability for delivering robust, reliable and secure Internet connectivity," it said.
Orient Telecoms has plans to expand to the east coast, Sabah and Sarawak also within the next three to five years
"However, for the time being, we will focus on the Klang Valley because this is where we started, and we are trying to plan that expansion as best as possible so that we do not overpromise," said Orient Telecoms assistant vice president of network engineering Khairil Hafidz at the press conference.
Orient Telecoms vice president Yane Alkushovski said the service is the first of its kind in Malaysia.
"We are confident that it will position Orient Telecoms and Malaysia's telecommunications industry as a force to be reckoned with in this part of the region," he said at the launching.
On a global level, executive director and chief technology officer Sayed Mustafa Ali said Orient Telecoms plans to launch the service in Thailand after completing the testing phase.
He explained that Singapore, being a major hub for submarine cables, is the quickest Internet gateway after China. "After Singapore, Malaysia is the next key point, followed by Thailand. This geographical layout directs our strategic move northward."
