Volvo Car Malaysia has officially launched its first fully electric rugged compact SUV, the EX30 Cross Country
Assembled locally at the company's Shah Alam plant, the new model enters the Malaysian market with a starting price of RM218,888 on the road without insurance.
Early buyers can secure an exclusive launch package; the first 100 reservations include a RM12,000 cash rebate, a free Volvo Wallbox home charger worth RM3,990, a load carrier valued at RM2,098, and a roof basket worth RM3,680.
Built on the foundation of the standard EX30, the Cross Country variant introduces several hardware upgrades designed for off-road conditions and highway travel
The vehicle features a 19mm increase in ground clearance compared to the base model, paired with an upgraded chassis design and 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels to handle rougher terrains.
Matte black lower bumpers, low-gloss vapour grey skid plates, and wheel arch extensions give the exterior a distinctive off-road appearance.

Under the hood, a twin-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain delivers 428hp and 543Nm of torque, enabling the compact SUV to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds.
Power comes from a 69kWh Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery pack that provides a driving range of up to 437km on a single charge based on the WLTP cycle.
Using a 175kW DC fast charger, the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in 27 minutes.

Inside the cabin, Volvo incorporates upcycled denim textiles and bio-attributed Nordico upholstery alongside a panoramic glass roof.
Digital controls are centred on a 12.3-inch central touchscreen running built-in Google services, paired with a Harman Kardon premium soundbar system integrated into the dashboard.
Practical storage options include a 318-litre rear luggage area, expandable to 718 litres with the rear seats folded, alongside a central storage compartment large enough for a handbag.

Alongside the new vehicle rollout, Volvo Car Malaysia announced the introduction of its Digital Service Booking platform via its mobile application and website, alongside a price adjustment for the standard EX30 Ultra variant, which now starts from RM198,888.
