You can now edit your messages on WhatsApp as long as you update the application to its latest version

An update that was rolled out two weeks ago confirms that the messaging app has released a feature that lets you edit your messages within 15 minutes of sending them.

All you need to do is hold on the message you've just sent until a list of options pops up. One of the prompts would show the selection 'Edit'.

We have also tried the feature and can verify that it is now available on both iOS and Android devices

Here's how the feature looks like:

If you're prone to sending out risky texts, this feature from WhatsApp will be very beneficial for you. :P

Messages you edit will also come with a notification to everyone in the chat who has the latest WhatsApp version. If you’re thinking about what happens to edited messages sent to people who don't have their WhatsApp up to date, don't worry. WhatsApp will only release the ability to edit messages when all incompatible versions with this feature have expired.

Additionally, this feature will also be available on WhatsApp Web, where any messages edited on the web version will also be reflected to your device.
