Local tech fans were excited when they got the news that Chinese electronics and software maker Xiaomi had opened its first brick and mortar store in Malaysia earlier this year
The first Mi Premium Reseller Store opened in Penang this April and it featured a number of exclusive products that can't be found in online stores like Lazada and 11Street.
But the idea of travelling all the way to Penang just to visit the store proved to be too much of a hassle, especially for folks living in the Klang Valley.
Well, we have good news for you city dwellers; Xiaomi is opening two outlets in the Klang Valley region!
Following the launch in Penang, local tech site SoyaCincau spotted a huge banner with the writing "Coming Soon" next to a Mi logo in Suria KLCC.
Xiaomi Malaysia told SoyaCincau that the store will be up and fully operational in October. That's just in a matter of days!
And most recently, a Twitter user spotted a similar banner plastered over a shopfront in IOI City Mall, Putrajaya
There's also a job ad for four positions including one for a repair technician to be stationed at the store.
Apart from that and its location, other information regarding the opening is still unknown at the moment. But good news nonetheless!
If the stores in Putrajaya and KL are going to be anything like the one in Penang, you can expect a whole bunch of electronics and items, in addition to its popular line of smartphones
A brick and mortar store will also give you the opportunity and time to try and feel the products before purchasing them.
Hopefully there will be some promotions or deals during the launch of both stores. Fingers crossed!
