Car enthusiasts with deep pockets might want to pay attention to an upcoming auction that offers a unique opportunity

The auction will feature a Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3.

It's not just any GT-R, but the exact car that will be featured in the highly anticipated Gran Turismo movie. It's a chance to own a special piece of automotive history with a touch of Hollywood glamour.

Here's an exciting piece of information to the upcoming auction:

The Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 being offered was previously driven in competitions by the film's protagonist, Jann Mardenborough, making it even more special. With a remarkable track record, the press release claims it to be "the most successful GT-R R35 GT3 currently in private ownership".

Silverstone Auctions will host the bidding on 25 August at the Silverstone Festival, and the estimated sale price is between GBP225,000 (RM1,135,112) and GBP275,000 (RM1,387,359), but the final price could vary significantly.

The Nissan GT-R on auction is more than just a car; it's a piece of automotive history

Upcoming movie, Gran Turismo, is based on the worldwide GT Academy franchise and specifically centres around Jann's remarkable story. The Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 being auctioned is not only a central element in the film, prominently featured in promotional material, but it also holds significant importance in the real GT Academy narrative.

It symbolises Jann's success after winning the Nissan Academy programme, leaving behind other hopeful gamers and ascending the ladder to achieve his dreams. The car's connection to both the movie and the actual GT Academy journey makes it a truly special and coveted piece for automotive and movie enthusiasts alike.

Usually, cars featured in major movies aren't put up for sale as film companies tend to retain them for potential sequels or promotional purposes

However, when they do become available for purchase, they become highly coveted among collectors, as evidenced by recent sales of cars from the Fast and the Furious franchise, such as a Paul Walker GT-R fetching a staggering USD1.3 million (RM5.92 million) at auction.

Interestingly, the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 being auctioned has a unique and appealing aspect to it. It was previously owned by Darren Cox, the creator of GT Academy, and also portrayed by Orlando Bloom in the Gran Turismo film.

This association with the film and the GT Academy programme adds to the car's provenance and significance. Notably, the car has undergone a couple of colour changes throughout its history, transitioning from white to black livery and then back to white.

With such remarkable connections and transformations, this GT-R is likely to draw considerable attention and bidding interest at the upcoming auction at the Silverstone Festival on 25 August.
