Your Facebook news feed may soon be overhauled into a whole new look - an Instagram Stories look, in fact

Hong Kong-based software engineer and app researcher Jane Manchun Wong first uncovered the revamped user interface (UI) back in April.

On Saturday, 3 August, Wong tweeted that Facebook "is still showing signs" of testing the UI.

Initially, the new interface would have integrated News Feed posts and Stories into one carousel that users can swipe through

Users would have to tap on a post to launch the reel, which consisted of a mixture of News Feed posts and Stories.

However, Wong's latest update hints that Facebook might utilise the feature in Stories instead, by dropping in Posts within the reel of Stories

TechCrunch reported that a Facebook spokesperson confirmed the feature, but stressed that the prototype was in the early stages and that it is "currently not testing this publicly".
