Lazada Will Soon Remove Cash On Delivery As A Payment Option For Buyers

The payment method will be removed in phases over the next few months.

E-commerce website Lazada is doing away with Cash On Delivery (COD) payment method

In an announcement made recently through email to sellers on its website, Lazada said that they would be removing the COD option in phases throughout a few months, SoyaCincau reported.

It said that while COD is a great way to allow buyers without online banking or cards to shop on Lazada, the company has decided to gradually do away with the method to be in line with the country's aspiration towards a cashless society.

Lazada said that the removal of COD will help to reduce the cancellation or failed orders

At the same time, the e-commerce company also hopes that online buyers will move towards using their Lazada Wallet option when making their payment. 

The company also explained that that they would like to progress further in technology and commerce to ensure a more convenient and secured shopping experience for both sellers and buyers.

Answer guidelines were also provided in the email for sellers to respond to buyers when asked about the removal of COD option

Sellers will be able to provide the reasonings behind the removal of the payment option while also encouraging buyers to use the Lazada Wallet payment option instead. 

The Lazada Wallet is a an online wallet that can be used exclusively on Lazada and can be topped up via 7-Eleven outlets or online banking.
