K-pop group SEVENTEEN set an amazing record with their new album being the fastest selling global album in the 21st century

Following the release of their 10th mini album, FML, 13-member K-pop supergroup SEVENTEEN has broken yet another record, this time making their mark in musical history at a global scale.

The album, released on 24 April, achieved an astronomical record sale of nearly four million copies within the first 24 hours of its release on the Hanteo chart, one of South Korea's two major music charts.

This record earned the album the title of the second-highest most pre-ordered album in the history of K-pop, right under Map Of The Soul: 7 by BTS, which got 4.02 million pre-orders during its release in 2020.

The 13-member K-pop group surpassed British singer Adele, who held the previous record with her album, 25, for close to eight years

According to BBC, Adele's album, 25, held the record after selling over three million copies within a week of its release, making it the fastest at the time.

Fans of SEVENTEEN, named Carats, celebrated the event on social media, and considered the achievement a 'moment in history'.

The album has six tracks: F*ck My Life, 손오공 (Super), Fire, I Don't Understand But I Luv U, Dust, and April Shower.

The music video for 손오공 (Super) was released on 24 April, and has over 21 million views at the time of writing.
