Malaysians Shocked That Dr Pimple Popper's Mother Is Actually From Kuantan

According to the dermatologist, her mother is specifically from Kuantan, Pahang.

American Internet personality and board-certified dermatologist Dr Sandra Lee has become a established name in television ever since the broadcast of her own series, Dr Pimple Popper

Holding a long and accomplished career, Dr Lee began building her status in 2010 by posting content to her YouTube page regarding her job of being a dermatologist.

Taking off in 2015, her popularity surged after she started posting clips relating to skin extractions, eventually leading the specialist to launch her very own line of skincare products in 2017, called SLMD Skincare.

Nevertheless, most people probably know Dr Lee for her beloved reality television show on TLC, Dr Pimple Popper. Following the personality as she treats patients with unusual facial and skin disorders at her clinic in Upland, California, the reality show has been going strong, airing its ninth season earlier this month.

However, Dr Lee recently revealed her very special connection to Malaysia in a TikTok posted by another American content creator, who also happens to be Malaysian himself

Prominent figures on TikTok, American couple Alexis and Dean gained popularity on the channel by discussing issues related to the US economy as well as various forms of investments. Dean himself, is Malaysian.

In a TikTok the couple posted to their page, Alexis asked Dean to comment on what he believes may have happened to flight MH370 after watching the Netflix documentary series on the missing airline's disappearance, MH370: The Plane That Disappeared (2023).

After clarifying his perspectives in the five-minute clip, many people responded to his take on the flight's disappearance, as it received more than four million views at the time of writing. One of the responders happened to be Dr Lee herself, who commented on Dean's intonation as he spoke.

"My mom is from Kuantan, I hear your subtle accent!" she wrote in a light-hearted manner.

Grabbing major attention online, people were shocked to discover that Dr Lee had roots in Pahang

Doing some research on her statement, one TikTok user provided some information on Dr Lee's background, saying that her father, who was also a dermatologist, is Singaporean, while her mother is Malaysian.

According to the user, the couple had migrated to New York in 1969. Just a year later in 1970, Lee was born in Flushing, Queens.

Utterly fascinated by this information, many others could not believe that Dr Lee had such a special connection to Malaysia.

"We're all today's age [after] finding out THE Dr Sandra Pimple Popper Lee is half Malaysian," wrote one user, while another stated that people from Kuantan are powerful.

In a cheeky response, one user even stated that they would be watching more of Dr Lee's content after finding out this information about her family's heritage.
