Yuna Is Back With A Malay Album For The First Time Since 2017
The songstress released a first-look into her upcoming EP, 'Masih Yuna'.
It's time to be melancholy and start 'healing' with Yuna's all-Malay album titled Masih Yuna
The singer-songwriter dropped details of her new extended play (EP), Masih Yuna, in a tweet posted on 9 April.
The EP features four tracks: Menanti, Asing, Masih Sunyi, and Camaderie. The album is expected to be released on 27 April.
The first track, Menanti, was released as a single on 17 March on various music streaming platforms, such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer.
The single happens to be Yuna's first Malay release in six years, and is dedicated to her late cousin
"When I wrote this, it was meant to be a love song about longing for someone, lyrically it is, but I guess when I was writing it, I was still in a deep sadness over the loss of my cousin in 2021," Yuna wrote in an Instagram post following the release of the song. "Its safe to say this whole EP was written with her in my mind," the artiste added.
Yuna expressed her excitement towards writing and producing the Malay EP for her Bahasa Melayu-speaking fans, and thanked them for their immense support towards the single. She hopes that fans are looking forward to the EP's full release later this year.
Yuna's last Malay release was Bicara back in 2017.
