Restaurants with counter seats are the best places to dine alone.
Whether it is Sushi Hinata at St Mary Residence, Oribe Sushi at Vipod Residences, or The Market at Isetan Lot 10, not only do these restaurants with sushi bar seatings serve great food that you should 100% splurge on, you will also get to enjoy seeing chefs make your food right in front of you.

Unlike relationships, art has no mistakes, as Bob Ross would say it. So, paint your heart out as you sip on some wine or coffee.
There are a handful of art studios in the Klang Valley, where you get to colour up a white fabric canvas with acrylic paints.
Many of these places provide basic guidance and some even provide full-fledged workshops to get you up to speed.
Here are some art studios to get you started:
- Cratze Art @ Nova Saujana, Shah Alam
- Brew N Brush @ Jalan Ampang, KL
- The Refinery @ Sentul, KL
- Yorokobi Art @ Sri Petaling, KL
- Art & Bonding @ Desa Sri Hartamas, KL
- The Studio at KL @ Publika, KL

"Alcohol: because no great story ever started with a glass of milk." It looks like the person who made this famous saying clearly never had a boba night.
This Valentine's Day, grab a friend or two and head to a bubble tea street to suck on those chewy balls. Some of these places have other trendy desserts too, such as bingsus, ice creams, soya desserts, and more.
Here are some boba streets in the Klang Valley to spark some BFF date ideas:
- SS15, Subang Jaya
- SS2, Petaling Jaya
- Uptown, Petaling Jaya
- Jalan PJU 5, Petaling Jaya
- Jalan Rimbunan Raya, Kepong
If you still prefer a good ol' bar crawl, here are some suggestions in the Klang Valley:
- Persiaran Tropicana, Petaling Jaya
- Jalan Telawi, Bangsar

SAYS reported last week that Genting Highlands is emptier than usual due to China's ban on group travel in light of the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak.
Whether you and your friend intent to drink some coffee, take a walk, eat hot pot, go to the casino or the club, it will definitely be a good night out.
7. Third-wheeling your sibling to keep their date halal

A chaperone date might sound like a dead practice in Malaysia, but you can revitalise it this Valentine's Day.
The practice is to keep a close eye on a couple so that they do not cross any intimacy red lines during their dates.
Besides, nothing is wrong with getting to know your future sister- or brother-in-law better.
8. Plan a solo trip to anywhere you like

There are countless articles out there saying solo travel offers a handful of benefits, such as getting a strong sense of freedom, receiving a confidence boost, and improving problem-solving skills.
On top of how much money you can save from travelling alone, February is not a peak season to travel. Thus, your trip will be even cheaper.
9. LAN party

If you are a gamer, you would know how much fun a LAN party can be.
So hit your gamer friends up and plan a video game night. After all, when no one can console you for being single, only your console controller can.

A quick search on Facebook found that there are three KL events for people who are single on 14 February.
There are two singles' night events organised by matchmaking companies, Dateworks and Lunch Actually. The companies will match you up with someone over dinner.
There is also a Valentine's Day event for singles at W Hotel Kuala Lumpur, which involves a Magic Mike-inspired performance as you drink your night away. You can find more information about it here.
12. Get friends to set you up for a date

We have never welcomed our parents' matchmaking efforts, but if it is coming from a friend who has a lot of hot single friends - "hello baby, hook me up".
Besides, this move kills two birds with one stone. Two less people will be lonely that night. So hit that friend of yours up. Pretty sure he or she is down to help.
13. Swipe that Tinder hard

In this hook-up culture, where every millennial has a certain degree of commitment issues, Tinder or other dating apps are the best places to connect with other thirsty single people like yourself.
Also, as the saying goes, desperate times call for desperate measure. This may be the best time to subscribe to premium features on dating apps to increase your chances of matching with someone worthy of you. Spending some tens of ringgits is definitely better than you being alone at home - not that it is a bad thing either.
14. Rejoice over how much money you can save

The last recommendation on the list here is to make you feel good about not celebrating Valentine's Day.
There is no denying that Valentine's Day has become more and more commercialised over the years. From marked up prices of roses to expensive fixed meal options in restaurants, not celebrating 14 February is actually a huge relief for your pocket.
So, let's look at the bright side of being single this 2020.
