Man Regrets Lying To His Mum That A Starbucks Tumbler Costs Only RM20. Now She Has 5
When you're too deep into the lie that there's no backing out.
To downplay the price of his expensive gift, a man once told his mother that a tumbler from Starbucks cost him only RM20.
Now, she expects him to buy one every time they visit the coffee chain.
Content creator and entrepreneur Syukor Majid took to his Facebook account on Monday, 9 January, to share the funny story.
"That day, I took my mother and brother out to Starbucks. She happily spotted the Starbucks tumblers and said she could bring them with her to her studies," he wrote.
"So I bought her one. When she asked me how much it cost, I answered RM20 because I know if I told her it costs RM200, she wouldn't have taken it."

He did not realise that because of his innocent lie, his mother would make him buy a tumbler every time they go to Starbucks
"Now my mother has five Starbucks tumblers, and she has even snatched one with a Chinese New Year design," he wailed jokingly.
"This is getting worse, I feel like it's about time I told her that the real price of the tumbler is not RM20," he added, while sharing a heartwarming photo of his mother carrying her tumbler with her.

The Facebook post has since garnered over 35,000 likes and 5,000 shares, with netizens laughing at the son's predicament
"Actually, I'm sure your mother knows, but she just wants to use your money. If your mother doesn't finish spending it, who else?" commented a Facebook user.

"Look at smile on your mother's face. You should buy more tumblers for her," said another.

Another netizen laughed and said, "That's why, the truth is expensive, but not so much compared to those tumblers."
