11-Year-Old M'sian Boy Goes Viral For His Fluent English While Talking About History
"Even a grown up adult couldn't explain this," commented one user.
An 11-year-old boy, Eka Hafeez, recently went viral after his mother posted several TikTok videos of him showcasing his eloquence and intelligence
In a two-minute clip, the boy touched on Malaysia's history, particularly the details of Portugal-occupied Melaka in the early 16th century.
"Now, this is where the Portuguese came in. They were very interested to trade in Melaka, so they decided to take it," he explained.
"This was the first colonisation from the kingdom of Portugal. They only took and colonised the city of Melaka, they didn't take the whole (of Melaka) but only the capital, so they could have more trades," he added.
Eka went on to explain that Melaka eventually split into two states, giving birth to Johor, which sought independence from Portugal.

Eka's mother has consented to SAYS using her videos without blurring the child's face.
Aside from the Melaka history lesson, Eka also shared what his mother used to study in primary school
In another video, the boy said that his mother only started learning the alphabet when she was in Standard One.
"I thought you're (supposed to) learn that when you're five years old? What?" he said in disbelief.
"My mum also said when she was in Standard One all the way to Standard Six, she only had four subjects, including, Malay, English, Islam, and mathematics," he added.
Eka was also perplexed by his mother's old school curriculum, wondering why she only began learning science in secondary school.

What drew netizens' attention to the two videos was Eka's accent.
They expressed their admiration for the 11-year-old's fluency in English and polished articulation.
Videos of the boy speaking to the camera have garnered over three million views on her mother's TikTok account at the time of writing.
One user enquired about Eka's age because they couldn't believe his great command of the English language.
