Rodney Price, who hails from Queensland, Australia, captured a stunning scene during his recent flight from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan.
As the plane soared through the skies, Price's camera caught the majestic mountain piercing through the clouds, standing alone in its grandeur.
"Was amazed by this from our plane window flying from KK to Sandakan. Mount Kinabalu, the island in the sky," he wrote in the caption accompanying the photos he shared to a public Facebook group named SABAH : The Crown of Borneo.

"I would have missed the photo but my wife saw it and pointed it out to me. We very lucky to get the pictures," he told SAYS

The Facebook post, shared over 900 times and accumulating over 7,500 likes, garnered numerous comments praising the breathtaking beauty of the mountain
Located in Sabah, Mount Kinabalu stands at 4,095 metres tall, making it the third-highest island peak in the world after Puncak Jaya in New Guinea and Mauna Kea in Hawaii
It takes about two days and one night to scale up and down the mountain.
Although single day climbs used to be a thing, they are no longer allowed by Sabah authorities for safety reasons.
