M'sians Show Support For Ernest Ng's Collab With Subway For Merdeka-Themed Wrapper
Don't walk to Subway to get this wrapper, bestie. RUN!
Ernest Ng, the creator of #smkfastfood webcomic, shared his joy over his first collaboration with Subway Malaysia for Merdeka-themed wrappers
He took to Twitter on 2 August to announce the collaboration.
In his tweet, he said, "If you go to Subway this month, you will notice that the wrapping paper is a bit different. That's because it's got my artwork on it!"
The exclusive sandwich wrapper features Sabweh, one of the characters in the #smkfastfood comic in which Malaysian fast food chains are classmates.
Of course, Ng did not forget to show off his signature on the wrapper as well!
Supportive Malaysians shared photos of their purchases to show love and support for Sabweh under the tweet
As soon as the "Bro, don't like that la, bro" webcomic artist made the announcement, netizens did not wait around and quickly grabbed the limited edition Subway wrapper from the nearest outlets.
They took pictures of their lunches to show off the beautifully-designed wrapping paper.

Some even planned to purchase a Subway sandwich just for the wrapper.
"Don't make me go to Subway just to grab this wrapper," said a Twitter user.
Another user, who only notices Ng's tweet when they were enjoying their sandwich, showed support, saying, "I was eating a Subway when your tweet suddenly appeared on my timeline. Well done, Ernest!"

A netizen pointed out that a TikTok user even used the sandwich wrapper to decorate her journal
"I saw a TikTok video of someone who likes journaling, requesting for a piece of that wrapper for free. This is so adorable!" tweeted the user.
Ng thinks that using it for journaling is a brilliant idea too.

The said TikTok video is part of a series called "Tell me you journal without telling me you journal" by @hellojanethecrazy. In the video, Jane asks for an extra piece of the wrapper because she thinks it is cute. The cashier then gave it to her and laughed.

She then sat happily in a café with a friend and cut and pasted the drawings from the wrapper onto her journal.
