It doesn't get more authentic than the food at Frame Thai. This place is run by several Thai cooks and the meals are just as tasty as the ones you would find on the streets of Bangkok.
It's a humble place, so don't expect too much. But the food makes it so worth the visit – sometimes you'll even find Thais dining here. On the side, they also sell Thai ingredients and snacks.

3. Pasar malam stall @ SS2, PJ (Non-halal)

Every Monday, SS2's pasar malam has a stall selling authentic Thai food cooked by Thais themselves.
Some of these include stewed pork leg with rice, grilled pork with sticky rice, som tam, and salt-grilled fish. To complete your meal, they also sell mango sticky rice.

La MOON takes fine dining up a notch by serving some of the best Thai food you can find in KL.
Paying homage to his mother's cooking, chef Trakool 'Korn' Yodsu, who was formerly with Thai restaurant Erawan, is the man behind this restaurant's impeccable dishes.
They have a delicious crab curry and crab meat omelette that's said to be almost as good as that of Bangkok's Michelin-star restaurant, Raan Jay Fai.

If you're in the Cheras area, this spot serves reasonably priced halal Thai food. Their tom yam and pandan chicken are full of flavour. Even if you're stuffed, you'll keep wanting more.
According to its website, the restaurant was first opened in 2006 and run by Malaysian owners with the help of a Thai chef.

'Baan kun ya' simply means 'grandmother's house', which is the story behind this restaurant. Growing up, the cook accompanied his grandma in the kitchen making delicious Thai meals.
His passion for cooking grew and he eventually collaborated with Thai Odyssey's founder to open this restaurant in Malaysia. Every dish is cooked from the heart, a tribute to his grandmother's authentic Thai recipes.

STREAT Thai has outlets all over Klang Valley serving a variety of Thai food. Their tom yam and pad kra pow are pretty decent. Prices are affordable too. You can get a meal for less than RM10.

Boran's affordable meals can satiate any Thai food cravings you might have.
Some of the meals that they offer include Thai basil minced pork on rice, grilled pork neck on rice, and tom sap pork ribs. Their som tam is pretty authentic too!
