Uncle Roger's First Restaurant Is Opening In Pavilion KL This September
He's hiring too!
London-based Malaysian comedian and YouTube sensation Nigel Ng, better known as his online persona Uncle Roger, will be opening his first restaurant in Kuala Lumpur in September
According to KL Foodie, the comedian's restaurant will be located in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
The hoarding for the restaurant, in the iconic shade of Uncle Roger's bright orange polo shirt, has already been spotted at the shopping mall.
The signboard states, "Haiyaa... Good things take time. Wait long long," which can be read in Uncle Roger's famous disapproving tone.
A hiring advertisement is also visible, looking for a floor manager, assistant manager, kitchen manager, assistant chef, waiter, commis chef, and steward.

Ng initially announced the imminent opening of his restaurant in a brief mention during a YouTube video uploaded on 1 July
Since going viral as the not-so-friendly uncle doing food reviews on YouTube in 2020, Ng has amassed over nine million subscribers on his channel.
In the video, in character as Uncle Roger watching the late Anthony Bourdain eating street food in Penang, he tells his viewers to visit his home country, Malaysia.
"See, niece and nephew, that's why if you like food, you have to travel to Uncle Roger's country, Malaysia. Because there's so many ingredients we don't export. You can't get this outside of the country," he said.
"And by the way, another reason to go Malaysia: Uncle Roger is going to open his very first restaurant there. Fuiyoh!
"Coming soon later this year, but don't tell anyone, okay? It's a little secret. Just for loyal niece and nephew watching this video," he teased.

Ng did not elaborate further about the restaurant, nor did he make any announcement about its concept or what dishes it might feature
However, needless to say, fans are definitely hoping to see that one dish on his menu that started it all: egg fried rice.
