Whole Eggs, Kerang Bakar, And Other Things You Didn't Know Can Be Cooked In An Air Fryer

*Adds air fryer to cart*

We're used to seeing people cook things like chicken or French fries in an air fryer.

However, a few women recently went viral on social media after sharing that they use the nifty appliance for so much more.

On Sunday, 17 January, Erynn Suhazreen wrote, "It's so easy having an air fryer! Here, I'll treat you to a few settings. No matter what you cook, it's easy and healthy. Plus it's delicious."

Her post garnered over 31,000 shares and 3,500 comments.

Along with the post, she uploaded a few photos by her and another woman named Anis Niesha. The pictures show how these women use air fryers in unconventional ways.

Here are a few things you probably didn't know you can cook using an air fryer:

1. Soft-boiled eggs

Cooking eggs just got even easier. According to Erynn, you can get yourself perfect soft-boiled eggs by setting your air fryer to 150ºC for five minutes. No water needed at all!

2. Fried prawns

Anis Niesha shared that cooking prawns in the air fryer retains its juiciness and ensures that it doesn't shrink. Just set the device to 180ºC for 10 to 15 minutes and you're done!

3. Kerang bakar

Kerang bakar, or fire-grilled cockle, is a delicacy we often find at seafood restaurants by the beach. Since we're under the Movement Control Order (MCO) and can't enjoy eating out, stay inside and try this out. Just put some cockles into the air fryer and set it to 180ºC for eight minutes.

After that, you can even throw together a sauce to go with it like Anis Niesha did here:

4. Crispy fried anchovies

Here's a truly fuss-free way to cook anchovies. Anis Niesha said to set the temperature to 180ºC and let them cook for 10 minutes first. Then, take them out and flip them here and there before putting them back in for another three minutes. Done!

Suddenly cooking just got a whole lot easier. Try it out for yourself and all the best!
