A 20-year-old Malaysian is hoping that with the help of the public, he will finally be able to find and meet his birth family
On Thursday, 27 May, Facebook user Rain Lee Lin Jun shared that after a lot of consideration, he is hoping to get to know his birth parents who gave him up for adoption when he was born.
"It's taken a lot of courage and boldness to post this. I've spent years thinking about my birth family, and whether I have siblings and cousins," he wrote.
"I just hope that I'll get to know you. I've been wondering all my life."

Born on 5 October 2001 in a clinic called Bangsar Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Lee said he knows nothing else about the circumstances of his adoption
The only thing he can share about his birth was that his adoptive family gave his birth mother a gift on the day they adopted him, as a token of appreciation.
However, he said, even then, they never met his birth family, only having gifted the present through their doctor.
Lee added that he has gotten no leads after speaking to the doctor who delivered him.
"I've talked to the doctor, he claims not to have the records since he no longer practices there," Lee told SAYS.
The only other lead so far is that Lee has done a DNA test and found that he has second cousins with the surnames Lim, Wong, Tan or Chen, and Sim or Shen.

Lee also assured that he has already gotten approval from his adoptive family to openly find his birth family
"To my adoptive family, please do not take this as anything on you. It's me. With all that's going on in the world right now, I've decided, I can't wait forever," he said.
"I'm worried everyday, what if something happened to any of you and I never get to meet any of you?" he wrote, referring to his birth parents.
Besides getting to know his birth family, Lee said he is also interested to know if there are any hereditary diseases or sickness in the family that he may need to know about.
"Please help me share and repost this to as many places as possible," he urged.
As of writing, the post has already been shared over 800 times, with Malaysians all wishing him luck in finding his family.
