Liu Lian'ge, a Chinese banker who was investigated by the National Supervisory Commission of China for corruption, sabotaged his son's relationship in order to marry his girlfriend

According to reports, after his son introduced his girlfriend to the family, Liu disapproved of the relationship, claiming the girl was "not a suitable match for their family background".

Amid Liu's constant nagging, his son eventually broke up with her.

However, six months later, the son was shocked to discover that his father, who had already been married thrice, had married his ex-girlfriend, according to the South China Morning Post.

Betrayed by his own father in such a manner, the man fell into chronic depression.

The term is often used for officials in China known for having three or more mistresses.

According to reports, Liu had numerous extramarital affairs and frequently summoned female subordinates to his office for late-night "heart-to-heart chats".

Public records indicate he was married four times, with his partners becoming progressively younger and more beautiful. His fourth wife — his son's ex-girlfriend — was the youngest and most beautiful.
