Anwar Responds To Student's Hand-Written Letter About Being A Victim Of Bullying & Racism

The victim claimed that he was being bullied by a group of students in school and the teacher was a racist.

In the letter, which the words resemble the handwriting of a child, they wrote, "Today, a group of people bullied me, and the teacher was being very racist. I am wrighting (sic) this letter because I want you to stop rasism (sic)."

Anwar responded to the letter by promising to address the issue with the Education Minister and conduct an immediate investigation.

"Thank you, I will request the Ministry of Education, which is now headed by Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, to investigate this matter promptly," wrote Anwar.

The Prime Minister has since taken down the post from his social media. According to The Online Citizen, it is understood to have been done at the request of the victim's parent.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek stated that the ministry will not compromise on the issue, reported Berita Harian.

She hopes that all parties can provide an atmosphere of zero racism in schools and homes, as schools should be the safest place for students to be at.

"In addition, teachers are expected to set a good example for students in terms of leadership, as well as show care for their students," Fadhlina said.

"We must be aware that children are among those who would easily absorb any information they received, given the political climate on social media."

"Therefore, make use of this school holiday period as an opportunity to create an ecosystem that is harmonious and filled with mutual respect," she added.
