Book Depository has been around since 2007, offering over 20 million titles with free delivery worldwide to over 170 countries

It offers everything from children's books to fiction, novels, anime and manga, food and drink books, crafts and hobbies, biographies, crime and thriller, as well as art and photography books.

Founded in 2004 by Stuart Felton and Andrew Crawford, a former Amazon employee, Book Depository's mantra was to "sell 'less of more' rather than 'more of less'".

Initially a competitor of Amazon, the store was eventually acquired by the retail giant in 2011, as reported by The Guardian.

According to the report, the news of Book Depository's closure comes after Amazon announced that it had decided to "eliminate" a number of positions across its Devices and Books businesses.
