"In line with the PH manifesto, the rakyat can enjoy an 18% discount on toll fares on all highways owned by PLUS," said Lim.
The discount will come into effect next year.
The Finance Minister said the rakyat will be able to save up to RM1.13 million by 2020, and RM43 billion in total by the year 2038.
These are the highways owned by PLUS:
- North-South Expressway (NSE),
- the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE),
- the Seremban-Port Dickson Expressway (SPDH),
- the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE),
- the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link Highway (Linkedua),
- the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE),
- the East-Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2), and
- the Penang Bridge.
The Second Penang Bridge toll will be reduced from RM8.50 to RM7 for Class One vehicles.
Additionally, four Klang Valley highways will see a 30% drop in toll fares outside of peak hours

Lim said the Cabinet has approved the acquisition of four Klang Valley highways:
- Shah Alam Highway (KESAS),
- Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP),
- Sprint Expressway (SPRINT), and
- SMART Tunnel (SMART).
These four highways will have a 30% discount during normal hours and will be completely free from midnight until dawn.
It was previously announced that the free hours start from 11pm to 5am daily.
However, the toll fares will increase during peak hours.
Lim said the acquisition of these highways will not burden the government

He explained that the cost of financing, operations, and maintenance of these highways will be fully funded through toll collection and congestion charges.
Earlier, the Finance Minister said that the Pakatan Harapan manifesto promised to hold discussions with toll companies to negotiate the best price to take over each toll concession.
He said it is the government's ultimate goal to eliminate all toll collection gradually.
