A dashcam video showing a snatch thief stealing a woman's handbag at the crowded Bukit Bintang crossroad in Kuala Lumpur has gone viral on social media
In the 17-second video, the pedestrian can be seen falling to the ground as the suspect rides past and snatches her handbag while she crosses the road.
Another motorcyclist chases after the suspect after witnessing the act.

According to the timestamp of the dashcam footage, the incident is believed to have occurred at 2.16pm on Sunday, 8 September
Bystanders at the scene helped the victim to her feet after the incident.
At the time of writing, the video shared on YouTube by China Press has garnered over 64,000 views.
Some netizens questioned whether the motorcyclist who chased the suspect was actually an accomplice.
"The accomplice chased after [the suspect] on a motorcycle. [He] didn't really pay attention to the woman!" said a netizen, while another added, "Are you sure the suspect who chased after the suspect was not an accomplice?"
One person wrote, "Public security is getting worse these days."
