Hospital Asks Help From Ipoh Firefighters To Remove Ring Stuck On Man's Penis

The firefighters took 15 minutes to remove the ring.

Firefighters from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station saved a 37-year-old man from penis strangulation at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital yesterday, 8 September

According to Berita Harian, the fire and rescue station received a request for special assistance from the hospital in Ipoh, Perak, about a ring stuck on a man's penis at 9.14am on Sunday.

Two firefighters were dispatched to the hospital as medical staff attempted to remove the ring from the man's genitalia.

Upon arrival, the two firefighters used their special equipment to cut the ring off the man's private part at the emergency unit

"It took firefighters 15 minutes to cut the ring using specialised tools as [the ring] was quite thick," Fire and Rescue station chief Azman Hussin told the New Straits Times.

The operation concluded at 10.12am, and the victim was handed over to the hospital for further care.
