Minister of Local Government Development David Nga Kor Ming has rebuked calls by PAS to cancel Coldplay's upcoming concert at Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur

According to New Straits Times, he said this in response to PAS' central working committee member Nasrudin Hassan, who urged the government to cancel the concert, which is set to take place on 22 November.

Malay Mail cited Nga as saying that the concert will be a boost for the nation's economic growth and PAS' obsolete way of thinking is not suitable for our multiracial society.

"If they don't like Coldplay... my suggestion for them is simple, don't buy the tickets, and close their eyes," said Nga during his ministry's Hari Raya open house yesterday, 11 May.

Nga added that if Coldplay agrees, he would like to treat them to nasi lemak, nasi kerabu, roti canai, and yong tau fu so that they can help us promote our local delicacies since 2025 will be Visit Malaysia year.

"All international singers, including Taylor Swift and Adele, are welcome to perform in Malaysia," said the minister.

Nga mentioned that the British rock band's philosophical views are in line with the ministry's efforts to promote environmental protection

"Coldplay sponsored a watercraft in 2019 to clean the Klang River, which is in line with our goals. We want to ensure cleanliness while they, too, want to take care of the environment,” he explained, as quoted by The Star.

The band is the sponsor behind the Interceptor 005, a machine built by the Dutch non-profit organisation, The Ocean Cleanup, that has been cleaning up the Klang River for the past several years.
