Driver Of Container Lorry That Crushed A Woman To Death Flashes "V" Sign Outside Court
The victim's mother said the driver's attitude has truly broken their family's hearts and filled them with anger beyond words.
The family of a young woman killed in a horrific crash involving a container lorry expressed anger after the driver was seen flashing a "V" sign outside the Bukit Mertajam Court yesterday, 14 November
The 51-year-old driver was escorted by police officers to the Magistrate's Court at around 8.20am for a remand hearing when he raised his left hand twice, flashing the "V" sign while keeping his head down.

The court approved a four-day remand for the driver, extending his custody until 17 November to allow police to continue with their investigation into the fatal crash on 13 November.
The incident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
The crash involved the container lorry, another lorry, and five cars waiting at a traffic light along Jalan Bukit Tengah. While attempting a left turn, the container lorry lost control, resulting in the container falling off and crushing the other vehicles including the car driven by the young woman.
21-year-old Lee Zi Rou was killed after she was crushed under the container, while another male driver was injured and is currently receiving treatment at Bukit Mertajam Hospital.
Zi Rou managed to make one last phone call to her mother in her final moments.
"Mummy, I'm in so much pain!" she uttered before her life was cut short.

In an emotional response, Zi Rou's grieving family condemned the driver's actions, calling out his apparent lack of sensitivity to their grief
"My younger sister lies there [in the coffin], while [the driver] still has the audacity to flash a 'V' sign. Does he even understand how the family feels?" asked Lee Tze Kee, the victim's elder sister.
Tze Kee shared that the driver's attitude only compounded the family's heartbreak.
She described her sister as someone who had a low tolerance for pain. Even a routine facial caused her discomfort, she said, so the thought of her sister being crushed under the container was unbearable.
"I know my sister feared pain the most. Seeing her leave us in this way, it breaks my heart so deeply," she added, overwhelmed by the tragedy.
"We found out through social media that the suspect showed a 'V' sign in court. We are utterly devastated and enraged," said the victim's mother.
"We can't eat, we can't sleep, and tears fall the moment we open our eyes. And now, seeing the driver's attitude — it truly breaks our hearts and fills us with anger beyond words," she concluded.
