M'sian Singer Eda Ezrin & 5 Others Charged With Bringing Over 6,000 Meth Pills To Thailand
The group reportedly gathered at a hotel in Sungai Kolok, Narathiwat to celebrate the long weekend.
A popular Malaysian singer and five others have been charged with bringing more than 6,000 methamphetamine pills into Thailand
According to Harian Metro, the six individuals, aged between 25 and 34, were arrested at around 6am last Friday, 1 November, in a hotel room in Sungai Kolok, Narathiwat.
During the raid, Thai police reportedly seized approximately 6,000 yaba pills, a type of methamphetamine commonly known as 'pil kuda'.
It is understood that two of the detained Malaysians had entered Thailand through an illegal entry point, while the remaining four entered via the Rantau Panjang Immigration, Customs, Quarantine, and Security Complex.
The group is said to have gathered at the hotel to celebrate the long weekend.

According to Thai news outlet The Nation, the six suspects have been identified as Zuhaira Nasrin, 25; Wan Norsahidah Azlin Wan Ismail, 28; Eridieka Mohd Noor, 31; Nur Aida Mamat, 32; Mohamad Alif Deraman, 32; and Mohamad Affendi Ahmad, 34.
Wan Norsahidah Azlin, also known by her stage name Eda Ezrin, is widely recognised for her popular hit song Cinta Setandan Pisang. Thai authorities had to heighten security at Narathiwat Court to manage the crowd of fans who had crossed over from Kelantan to see her.

According to Thai police, none of the six suspects admitted ownership of the meth pills, reserving their right to testify only in court
A source from the Sungai Kolok police station also told The Nation that urine tests revealed that all six suspects had consumed the drug.
The suspects were charged with possession of meth pills for consumption and with intent to sell. Two of them were also charged with unlawful entry into Thailand as their passports lacked an entry stamp.
According to the New Straits Times, under Thai law, those convicted of drug possession face sentences of between 10 and 15 years' jail and fines of up to 200,000 baht (about RM25,800).
The six suspects have been detained for 84 days pending investigation, with no bail granted.
