Recently, the father of a student, who exposed her teacher for making rape jokes, took to Facebook to share screenshots of rape and death threats a man allegedly sent to his daughter's friend for supporting her

In the post that was uploaded on Wednesday, 23 June, the father, Saiful Nizam Abdul Wahab, shared that the man warned his daughter's friend to "watch her back" when she walks the streets.

In the screenshots of the messages, the man is seen threatening to beat the student's friend to "half death and feed" her to rapists because that's what women who seek attention "deserve".

The threats were sent to the girl for supporting the student, Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam, who herself had received rape threats from students in her school after she exposed the teacher in April this year.

The man, who sent the threats in both English and Bahasa Melayu, also challenged the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to "come and catch" him as "no one" takes police seriously nowadays.

It's not clear if the man, who is in his 20s, had tried to follow through with his threats. He was, however, taken in for questioning.

According to Putrajaya district police chief ACP Asmadi Abdul Aziz, the suspect was arrested for questioning for issuing death threats to the girl but has since been given bail.

A report was lodged in Putrajaya on 10 May by the victim who received the threats.

"The suspect has been arrested and granted bail. We have also seized his handphone and sent it for forensic analysis," The Star quoted Asmadi as saying on Wednesday, 23 June.

Malay Mail reported that the suspect was given bail while the investigation process is being concluded.

The suspect is a recent university graduate from the United Kingdom. He hails from Kulim, Kedah.

Ain was also called in to have her statement taken

Asmadi said Ain presented herself to the police to give a statement on the matter.

"The reason we called Ain in to have her statement recorded was to complete investigations concerning the report in Putrajaya which involves threats against the complainant only," he explained.

The case is being investigated under Section 507 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation by anonymous communication, and Section 233 of the Multimedia and Communications Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities or network service.
