#GE15: Zahid Wins Narrow Victory In Bagan Datuk With 348 Margin

Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has retained the Bagan Datuk parliamentary seat for the seventh term, by a narrow margin of 544 votes, according to official results
According to REV Media Group's microsite for all things election, MyUndi, Zahid garnered a total of 16,578 votes, defeating Pakatan Harapan's (PH) candidate, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, who secured 16,230 votes.
Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Dr Mohammad Faiz Na'aman garnered 8,822 votes, while independent candidate Tawfik Tun Dr Ismail won 226 votes.

According to election data, Zahid's vote share decreased from 55% in 2008 to 53% in 2013. The percentage was 51% in 2018, reported Harian Metro.
The UMNO president defeated PKR by 2,692 votes in 2008 as opposed to 12,539 in 2004. In 2013, the difference decreased to 2,108 votes.
In the 2018 general election, Zahid beat PKR's Pakhrurrazi Arshad and PAS' Ata Abdul Muneim Hasan Adli with a majority of 5,073 votes.
There are 58,183 registered voters for the Bagan Datuk constituency.
