Over the week, an Instagram personality and businesswoman landed in hot water after uploading photos of her honeymoon online
At the time, she claimed that to get approval for interstate travel amidst the movement control order (MCO) restrictions depended on the mood of the police officer in charge.
She had uploaded the photos on her Instagram Story that showed her and her husband enjoying their holiday by the sea. The photos went viral after a Twitter user shared screenshots on the platform.
When one person asked what excuse she had to travel interstate, she responded, "Honeymoon. Why are you guys overreacting? You can just get a letter. You haven't even tried and you're already jealous."
Another follower then asked, "You can use a honeymoon as a reason to travel interstate?"
"Yes, you can," she claimed.

Contrary to her claim that they gave honeymoon as a reason, it turns out the couple obtained approval for interstate travel during the MCO for business purposes, according to Wangsa Maju police department
In a statement on Saturday, 20 March, Wangsa Maju district police chief Supt Ashari Abu Samah said that they called the couple to record their statements with regards to allegations on social media.
According to Ashari, the police recorded the couple's statement after their photos of honeymooning at a resort went viral on social media over the week with netizens questioning the interstate permission given by the police to the couple for honeymoon purposes.
He said based on the checks, the man, who is a businessman, and his wife, applied for an interstate travel permit to Johor Bahru on 15 March at the Wangsa Maju police station for business purposes.
The application was approved for travel from 17 March to Saturday.
Ashari added that based on the statement recorded and document submitted, no action was taken against the couple in their 20's
"The couple confirmed that they have stayed at a resort in Johor throughout their business dealings there and have submitted proof of all business dealings as well as receipts of their accommodation. The couple also confirmed that they uploaded their photos on his wife's Instagram account," he said.
"However, they denied being in Pulau Perhentian, Terengganu as rumoured."
