Johor Sultan Adds 'FF1' Licence Plate To His Collection With A Winning RM1.2 Million Bid
The RM1.2 million bid is the highest amount collected to date by the government for a single vehicle licence plate.
The Johor monarch, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, has secured the 'FF1' licence plate with a record-breaking bid of RM1.2 million
Yesterday, 11 June, Sultan Ibrahim revealed in an Instagram post that he granted an audience to Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook, who presented the ruler with his brand-new licence plate.

In a Facebook post, Loke shared that this brings the amount collected for the 'FF' licence plate series to a whopping RM35.4 million
He also wrote that the RM1.2 million bid is the highest amount collected to date by the government for a single vehicle licence plate.
According to New Straits Times, the previous highest bid for the series was for the 'FF8' licence plate, which netted RM950,000.
Other notable plates that fetched extravagant prices include 'FF9' at RM911,999, 'FF3' at RM639,000, and 'FF2' at RM638,000.
The 65-year-old monarch appears to have a passion for collecting unique number plates
On 26 May 2012, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) declared that Sultan Ibrahim held the record for the country's most expensive licence plate with the 'WWW1' plate, which fetched RM520,000, reported New Straits Times.
Then in 2016, Sultan Ibrahim secured the 'F1' licence plate with a winning bid of RM836,660.
On February 8, 2017, he obtained the 'VR46' plate, reportedly as a fan of professional Italian motorcycle racer Valentino Rossi, acquiring it for a price of RM55,002.20.
