Kedah Boy Was Abused By His 30-Year-Old Stepbrother Because He Didn't Know How To Do Maths
His stepbrother has since been arrested.
A six-year-old boy from Alor Setar, Kedah, was abused by his 30-year-old stepbrother because he did not know how to do a math question
Kwong Wah reported that the boy was saved by police on 5 March following a report lodged by members of the public.
The boy's father is reportedly detained in Thailand, while his mother has walked out on the family. He was under the care of the 30-year-old suspect along with two other siblings.
The victim suffered injuries all over his body due to slapping and caning
According to Sin Chew Daily, the boy's cheeks were swollen while his ears were bruised. He also had scars on his arms, legs, and back due to caning.
The six-year-old has since been sent to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital by employees of the Kota Setar Welfare Department for treatment.
The suspect has since been detained by the police
Sin Chew Daily reported that preliminary investigations showed that the 30-year-old was not under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident.
The man is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for abuse.
