A Malaysian father burned his son's motorcycle as a lesson to deter him from participating in mat rempit activities

Expressing his frustration on TikTok, @kajolmarey01 said he had lost patience trying to educate his son about the dangers of joyriding.

"I burned [his motorcycle]. It's easier not to have a motorcycle.

"If he has a motorcycle, he becomes a ghost... a devil!" said the enraged father, spitting on the burning motorcycle.

Kajol said that motorcycles have become a nuisance for many teenagers, causing them to be disobedient and come home late every night.

"Before you (my son) die at the hands of others or on the road, let me kill you (motorcycle) first. It's better that I burn you first," said the father while filming the burning motorcycle.

At the time of writing, the video has garnered over 1.7 million views. Watch it below:

In an update video posted today, 19 September, Kajol apologised to netizens for his actions and losing his patience, but defended burning his son's motorcycle as his method of teaching him a lesson

"It is better that I sacrifice the motorcycle that he used to go to school. But he didn't just use it to get to school.

"In life, I'm only afraid of two things: a call from the police saying my son has been arrested for mat rempit activities and a call from someone saying my son has passed away.

"I'm most afraid of that. That's why [I gave my son that lesson]," the father explained.

He said he loves his son and all the youth who engage in joyriding, expressing hope that the mat rempit culture will come to an end.
