Video Shows Fake Cops Kidnapping A Forex Investment Broker In Broad Daylight In Pahang
The victim was robbed of about RM25,000 before he was left at a cemetery in Kuantan.
A Chinese national in Kuantan, Pahang, was kidnapped by a group of men, dressed in black outfits and wearing masks, in broad daylight
According to Sin Chew Daily, the victim, a 24-year-old forex investment broker, had travelled to Kuantan from Selangor with his girlfriend to meet with clients whom they had never met in person.
The couple were on the sidewalk of a restaurant on Jalan Wong Ah Jang at about 5.30pm on Thursday, 2 May, when three men suddenly stepped out of a silver sedan and approached the couple.
"They introduced themselves as policemen before pulling the victim into the car," the New Straits Times quoted Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman as saying yesterday, 9 May.
He said the suspects were using a Perodua Bezza with a fake registration number.

In a video shared on Facebook, the forex investment broker could be seen struggling against the men, who also pushed his girlfriend away
"According to the victim, his head was covered and he was taken into a building. He was then told to surrender all his cash and valuables [amounting to RM25,000]," Yahaya said.
The suspects then abandoned the victim with his face still covered near a Chinese cemetery at Jalan Bukit Ubi at about 1.30am on 3 May. From there, the 24-year-old managed to contact his girlfriend for help.
The victim, who was not harmed, then lodged a police report.
Kuantan Police Chief ACP Wan Mohd Wan Busu, while confirming the case, said that all three masked suspects pretending to be police officers were Malay men, with their identities being investigated.
"An investigation paper has been opened under Section 170 and Section 395 of the Criminal Code for the offence of impersonating a public servant and committing robbery with friends," he added.
