Man's Luck Runs Out As He Smashes Into Glass Door After Stealing Diamond Rings For GF

The diamond rings were worth RM11,444.

A man stole two diamond rings as a sign of true love for his girlfriend at a shopping mall in Thailand

According to The Thaiger, the incident took place at around 8pm at a shopping mall in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand on 7 August.

22-year-old Sittikorn had walked into a jewellery shop asking to look at some diamond rings as he wanted to propose to his girlfriend.

When the salesperson handed him the rings, he pretended to observe them on his fingers before making a run for the exit

According to Thai Residents, Wang Nam Kiew district police officer Nirand Tawanpuwanat was patrolling nearby the jewellery shop during the incident.

When he heard screams that a theft just took place, Sittikorn ran past the officer during which he began to chase after the suspect.

As the suspect was running, he bumped into the shopping mall's glass door, causing it to shatter

The incident left the suspect stunned, following which he was grabbed by taxi drivers who at the shopping mall's entrance.

Nirand arrested him and seized the two diamond rings worth THB84,000 (RM11,444).

He told the police that his decision to steal the rings was spontaneous.

According to The Thaiger, the suspect had travelled to Nakhon Ratchasima to find work and to live with his girlfriend.

He wanted to surprise his girlfriend with a diamond ring but realised that he couldn't afford it as he did not have money.
