PDRM Arrest 2 Men For Providing Fake Interstate Travel Permit At Roadblock

According to Bernama, Bentong district police chief Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar said yesterday, 30 May, that the duo — who are reportedly 25 and 34 years old — were arrested at about 6.30pm on Saturday.
The arrests took place after policemen on duty at the roadblock became suspicious of the two men upon checking the permit, Zaiham said
He added in a statement that, "The policemen doubted the authenticity of the stamp and signature of the police chief who allegedly approved the permit and contacted the station."
"A check revealed there was no such serial number and the station had not received any application from the men," the police chief added.
Zaiham disclosed that the men were investigated under Section 22(D) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 for producing false information or documents.
If convicted, the men will be issued a RM4,000 fine each.
It is reported that companies that breach the same law will be served with a fine of up to RM20,000.
The police chief also revealed that seven people had been stopped at the same roadblock over fake interstate travel permits up to last Saturday
"Stricter checks will continue to be enforced at the state's border with Selangor and Negeri Sembilan to ensure that the spread of COVID-19 in Pahang is kept under control," Bernama quoted him as saying.
This comes after the government announced that a total lockdown will take force from tomorrow, 1 June, to 14 June.
The full lockdown is being imposed in order to control and reduce the rising number of positive COVID-19 cases.
According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), the number of positive cases reported today is 6,824.
