An 8-month-old baby was allegedly bitten by another child while under the care of a daycare centre in Kuching, sparking outrage after the mother took to Facebook to share the harrowing experience

In her post earlier this week, the mother recounted how she noticed red bite marks all over her baby's body when she picked the infant up from the centre in Batu Kawa.

When confronted, the daycare centre initially claimed the baby did not cry during the incident. However, they later changed their statement, saying the baby had cried but "only briefly".

"It was very brief, and we thought it was nothing serious," the centre allegedly told her.

In her post, the mother expressed disbelief at the response, writing, "First, they said there was no crying, then they said there was a brief cry. Which is it? Are they even paying attention to the children?"

The mother expressed frustration with how the centre handled her concerns

She alleged that the staff were dismissive and seemed unwilling to take responsibility.

She also questioned the daycare centre for allegedly washing the baby's bloodstained clothes: "Why didn't they leave the clothes as they were? What are they trying to hide?"

Adding to her frustration, the daycare centre insisted that she pay RM388 as a "closing fee" when she decided to withdraw her child from the daycare following the incident.

Feeling that the daycare centre was not taking accountability for their negligence, the mother lodged a police report on the night of 7 January

Three women, including the owner and caretakers of the daycare, have since been detained.

Padawan district police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz confirmed that the three were detained to assist in investigations into the case under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001, reported Bernama.

Meanwhile, nurses are allegedly livestreaming newborn babies on TikTok:
