Najib Admitted To Hospital After Testing Positive For COVID-19
He complained about having a fever on Tuesday, 31 October.
Jailed former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has been admitted to Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) after contracting COVID-19
In a statement today, 2 November, his aide Muhamad Mukhlis Maghribi confirmed that the 70-year-old was hospitalised after reporting a fever on Tuesday, 31 October, reported New Straits Times.
"After being checked by specialists, Najib was found to have COVID-19," Mukhlis told The Star.
Najib is currently in stable condition, but has to remain in quarantine and receive treatment at the hospital
"Representing Najib's family, we would like to thank the Kajang Prison and HKL for swiftly giving treatment to Najib," Mukhlis added.
Najib is currently serving a 12-year prison at the Kajang prison.
He was jailed on 23 August last year after the Federal Court dismissed his appeal to overturn his corruption conviction in the SRC International case. He became the country's first former prime minister to be incarcerated.
