Earlier this week, a police constable on duty in Taiping, Perak, left his firearm on the boot of his patrol car while he was relieving himself

Constable Zulkifle, on patrol with Constable Thiren in the Taiping/Changkat Jering zone, had stopped the car by the side of the road at around 2.35pm on Monday, 27 May, reported the New Straits Times.

Zulkifle had placed his firearm, a .38 Smith and Wesson revolver, on top of the car's boot while he urinated.

After relieving himself, he went back into the car and drove away, patrolling the area without his gun.

He only realised his gun was missing when the duo arrived at the Taiping police headquarters 10 minutes after the incident

At about 3.05pm, both of them drove back to the area to search for the gun but failed to find it.

Taiping district police chief ACP Mohamad Nasir Ismail has since ordered all personnel driving towards the same location to help locate the missing firearm, reported the English newspaper.
