On Wednesday morning, 24 April, Perlis Menteri Besar (MB) Mohd Shukri Ramli's son was remanded at the Kangar Magistrate's Court

According to the New Straits Times, he is one of six individuals remanded for two days to facilitate the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) investigation into the alleged submission of false documents and claims for unrealised projects exceeding RM600,000 over the last two years.

The other five individuals include two civil servants from the Perlis Menteri Besar's Office and State Secretary's Office, along with three company contractors, reported The Edge.

A source told the English daily that one of the detained individuals is suspected of holding multiple positions, including owning a company involved in the project, serving as a contractor, and working as a public servant in both the State Secretary's Office and the Menteri Besar's Office.

Shukri's son was detained on Tuesday morning

He is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act.

The Perlis MB, while confirming his son's arrest, said he would leave the matter to the authorities to conduct their investigation.

"I have been informed of the news by the MACC, and leave it to the discretion of the MACC. That's all for now," he was quoted as saying when met by reporters after the Perlis state assembly sitting.
