A Malaysian woman recently went viral for sharing a harassment incident she faced at a restaurant in Petaling Jaya, Selangor even though she was surrounded by many other diners at that time

In a TikTok on Sunday, 6 March, 22-year-old student Zett recounted the incident that happened after she finished her workout at a gym and went to Piccadilly Restaurant for dinner.

At the restaurant, she said that an 'uncle' approached her and stared at her, before asking, "What the f--k are you doing here?"

Surprised by the confrontation, Zett told the man that he might have mistaken her for someone else but the man said he met her at a club.

The response puzzled Zett because she has never been to a club.

"Where is your boyfriend?" the man then asked, to which she replied again that he had mistaken her for someone else.

"Since you don't have a boyfriend, you come sit with me," the man said after Zett returned from the washroom

At that moment, the man almost touched Zett but she said she managed to evade it.

"And then he pointed at my vape and said, 'Is that a dildo?'" she said in the TikTok.

"Mind you, this was at a public place with a lot of people. I was so f--king scared."

Her ordeal did not end there.

In his third attempt, the man sat down at her table and said that he had "nowhere else to sit".

Panicked, Zett moved to a stranger's table next to her and told them to let her sit for a while as she was being harassed by the man.

"Thank god, they were nice about it," she continued.

"And I went to tell the manager about it and the manager put me at a safer place to eat my dinner."

She said that she would not blame Piccadilly Restaurant for the incident, as she had never faced an encounter like that prior to that night.

"Before anyone wants to comment about my attire, I was wearing an oversized hoodie [and a pair of] loose shorts. So literally, this has nothing to do with clothing," Zett told her followers.

She ended the video by saying that her sister went to help her following the incident. She also urged other men to not harass women.

Speaking to SAYS, Zett related that the reason why she made the TikTok was to let women know things not to do and places to avoid

"I personally don't think making a police report would've done anything, so getting the message out there at least gave women a heads up," said the 22-year-old.

When asked what advice she has for other women, she said, "[Avoid] going to bistros and mamaks alone after this. Just take away your food. Bring around self-defense kits, like pepper spray or a small knife... whatever it may be."
