Police Nab 2 Men Who Robbed Taxi Driver At Knife-Point On Same Day In Johor
The men were arrested by the police a mere four hours after their theft.
Two men robbed a taxi driver at knife-point in Johor on Saturday, 4 March, after pretending to be passengers
According to New Straits Times, the two local men were travelling from Gelang Patah to Pengerang when they threatened the taxi driver with a switchblade.
"Around 4.30pm, the men produced a switchblade knife at the back of the taxi driver who is in his 70s. They instructed the man to hand over his valuables and then escaped into nearby bushes," said Kota Tinggi district police chief Supt Hussin Zamora in a media statement.
He said the taxi driver immediately lodged a police report to the Kota Tinggi district police station.

The police then deployed a team from the Kota Tinggi district police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to search for the suspects
The team successfully nabbed the men four hours later, near the crime scene.
The police managed to retrieve all stolen items, which comprised of a mobile phone, RM400 in cash, and a wristwatch, all belonging to the taxi driver.

One suspect was found to have spider and centipede tattoos, and is believed to be a member of Gang 08
The tattoos were placed on his left chest and right arm.
"We believe he could be a member of Gang 08," Hussin said.
The suspects have since tested negative for drug use but were discovered to have criminal records, with one being on the wanted list for two criminal cases in 2010 and 2022.
Both suspects will be remanded for a week to aid further investigations.
