Police Will Be Using Drones To Monitor SOP Compliance At Housing Areas During Aidilfitri

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) announced that they will be using drones to monitor standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance in residential areas during Hari Raya Aidilfitri
According to Bernama, Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department (Operations) SAC M V Sri Kumar said that the drones will ensure SOP violations are detected.
"Its use, however, will be subject to the request of district police chiefs in the state," he added.

Meanwhile, in high-rise residential areas, police will check the visitors' logs at the premises
M V Sri Kumar also urged the public to report any SOP violation during Hari Raya festivities that happen in their residential areas to the police.
He told Bernama that there will be no exemptions at police roadblocks and those without completed documents to cross states or districts will be ordered to turn back.
On the other hand, SOP violators will be issued compounds.
He then assured that actions taken by the police are not meant to pressure the public but to enforce existing rules and regulations.

Under the Movement Control Order (MCO), house-to-house visits are prohibited throughout the country
New Straits Times reported that cemetery visits are also not allowed during Aidilfitri, as previously announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Monday, 10 May, after chairing a special National Security Council (MKN) COVID-19 Management meeting.
This ruling is effective throughout the MCO from 12 May until 7 June.
