Putrajaya Security Guards Find Honda Civic Stolen From Genting And It Has... A New Look

Police commended the security guards for reporting the 'suspicious' car when it entered an apartment building.

A Singaporean tourist's Honda Civic Type R that disappeared from Sky Avenue car park in Genting Highlands, Pahang, last week was found in Putrajaya on Tuesday, 19 July

The stolen vehicle was found by security guards in the parking area of ​​a condominium. They had found it suspicious when it entered the compound.

According to Sin Chew Daily, the guards decided to report it to the police after seeing the large decal stickers covering the body of the car and noticing that some of the vehicle's colours and features matched those in pictures of the missing car that had gone viral on social media.

However, to avoid detection, the thieves reportedly changed the car's exterior from blue and black to black and white. Its Singaporean-registered licence plate was also replaced with a Malaysian one.

When the police arrived, Pahang police chief Datuk Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said that they were able to confirm it was indeed the stolen sedan

Based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, the sedan entered the condominium compound at about 6am on 16 July – the same day it was stolen. Investigators will use the footage to track down the culprits.

The police chief also commended the security guards for taking action, which successfully helped the police in tracking down the car.

The victim, known as Damien in Mothership's report, has been informed and will travel to Malaysia on Monday, 25 July, to get reclaim the vehicle.

He told Mothership that he plans to assess the extent of the damages at a workshop in Singapore and will restore the car to its original state.
