A restaurant owner in Kajang, Selangor, recently shared a video of a man walking into his restaurant one day asking for free food

Shafiq Razak, the owner of Ayam Gepuk Pak Agus, shared a video of the incident on TikTok last week, where he said the man was brought to tears after his staff gave him two packets of food for his children.

The video caption read, "We were approached by someone who begged for food, saying that it was for his two children who had not eaten yet.

"We were so heartbroken that we immediately gave him food for free. He said he would pay us back later when he has money.

"We respect him for putting aside his ego for the sake of his children. Let's not judge his situation because everyone has their own issues. As long as they are not stealing. It's okay, brother, this is on us!"

In the video, the restaurant staff were seen handing food packets and a bottle of water to the man, who seemed to be full of gratitude

Shafiq, who was contacted by mStar after the video went viral with over 1.5 million views, said, "I saw that he seemed to be in distress. So, I immediately asked my staff to prepare a set of ayam gepuk, which includes rice, soy sauce, chicken, vegetables, tofu, and tempeh. I asked them to add extra rice for him."

He added that after his staff gave the man the food, the man burst into tears and repeatedly said thank you.

"He also prayed for us to be blessed with more prosperity," said Shafiq.

Netizens have since taken to the comments section to thank Shafiq and his staff for kindly treating the man to the meals

"This is the difference between a person in hardship and a [scam] syndicate. A syndicate would ask for money but a struggling person would ask for food," commented a TikTok user.
