PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is now the only Prime Minister candidate for the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition and its allies
The decision comes after Warisan president Datuk Mohd Shafie Apdal stepped aside to support the Opposition leader, reported The Star.
"We have agreed for Anwar to be supported as the Opposition candidate for PM," he told the English daily when contacted today, 18 August.

Last night, 17 August, he said that lawmakers aligned with PH had agreed to choose between him and Anwar depending on who can get the additional support needed from outside the coalition
"We have decided we have two choices of names. Anwar's and mine. Together we have 105 votes," he told Astro Awani in an interview.
"So, whoever gets more votes outside of this, we will abide by the decision. If Anwar gets more, I will concede; likewise, if I get more votes, he has to support me."
As of now, it is unknown whether Anwar has garnered additional support.
PH and its allies need support from at least six more members of Parliament (MPs) outside their parties to form a majority.
They — along with Barisan Nasional and its allies that have chosen Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as their candidate — have until 4pm today to name their prime minister candidate.
Meanwhile, it is said that Ismail has support from 115 MPs:
